Paul Anka

Paul Anka was born at Ottawa, Ontario Canada on July 30, 1941, of a Lebanese-Canadian descent. At a young age, he already showed an interest in music, he learned to play piano. At 13 he formed his singing group called the Bobbysoxes, and at 14 he is already writing his own songs. Without his mothers knowledge he keeps on joining at the amateur singing contest. At the age of 15, he traveled to Los Angeles hoping of getting an audition. That audition resulted to his first single, the “Blau-Wile Desert Fontaine” under the Modern Records.

In 1957, Anka auditioned at Don Costa from BBC-Paramount Records. Costa was impressed with the young singer’s material including the song “Diana”. Diana was recorded shortly thereafter and it became a big hit making Paul a teen sensation in the late fifties.

Paul also wrote songs for other notable performers such as  Connie Francis, Buddy Holy, Barbra Streisand, Mitch Miller, The Dobbie Brothers, Frank Sinatra “My Way” and Tom Jones “Shes a Lady”.

Paul also appeared on several movies, including The Longes Day for which he wrote the title song that earned him an Academy Award Nomination. Also he wrote the title themes for “No Way Out” and “Atlantic City“. The theme song of The Tonight Show being hosted by Johnny Carson was also his composition. His Italian composition “Ogni Valta” won at the San Remo Song Festival.  During the 1990’s, Paul was made Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters in France. He was inducted into Songwritters Hall Of Fame in 1993.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on 27 January 1756 in Salzburg. He was the seventh child of Leopold, a violinist and composer, and Anna Maria. The couple had 7 children, but only two survived, the fourth child, Maria Anna Walburga Ignatia, and the seventh child, Wolfgang Amadeus.

Mozart is one of the most important composers in history. He worked as Kapellmeister to the Archbishop of Salzburg. In 1781, he requested release from his duties and started working freelance. He wrote concertos, operas, oratorios, quartets, symphonies and chamber, vocal and choral music. He has written over 600 compositions.

Mozart’s father was a huge influence on the budding musician. At the age of 3 years Wolfgang was already playing the piano and a perfect height. By the age of 5, Mozart was already a small allegro (K. 1b) and andante (K. 1a). At 6 years old, was taken by Wolfgang Leopold with his sister, Anna Maria, who was also a music prodigy, touring Europe. The young musicians performed at various locations, as in the royal courts where queens, emperors and other guests were present.

Mozart’s popularity grew, and soon they moved  in France, England and Germany. Traveling Wolfgang met other composers who would later influence his compositions. He met and befriended Haydn. At 14, he wrote his first opera Mitridate re di Ponto, which has been well received. In his late teens Wolfgang’s popularity declined and he was forced to accept jobs that do not pay well.

His works include “Mass Commotion”, “Sinfonia Concertante” (for violin, viola and orchestra), operas such as “Idomeneo,” “The Abduction from the Seraglio, Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro”, “Cosi fan tutte “and” The Magic Flute. “

Mozart was a talented musician. His music has simple melodies but rich in orchestration.

On 5 December, 1791 in Vienna, he died after writing “The Magic Flute”, Wolfgang became ill. He died early in the morning of December 5, at the age of 36 years. Some researchers say it was because of kidney failure.

Freddie Mercury Biography

One of the most memorable show ever to step on a stage has been the Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury. The interest in his professional and personal life has given rise to several versions of a biography of Freddie Mercury. He earned the status of legend following his tragic death in 1991 and is still conspicuous by its absence millions of fans. He was an unlikely candidate for the pop star when he entered the world in Zanzibar in 1946 as Farrokh Bulsara, the son of Indian Parsi parents. He grew up in India, was transferred to England, the Queen and the evolution of making his name, and the rest is history.

Many books tell the story of the singer. Unlike his  extrovert performance, he was a private man and did not give many interviews, but several authors have gathered interesting material that is available. The most fascinating insight into the biography of Freddie Mercury are friends and colleagues who knew him well. The book begins with children at university and to chart the success of Mercury and Queen solo career. He has written classic songs, but he remembers his emotion over his charisma and stage epic voice. In addition to fan adulation, he has the respect of many other performers and books discuss friendships his celebrity, including Elton John and David Bowie.

Freddie Mercury: The Definitive Biography by Lesley-Ann Jones  includes interviews with important people in his life. Freddie Mercury is written by Peter Freestone, who was the personal assistant of mercury for twelve years and was with him at the end. Peter Freestone also co-author of a biography of Freddie Mercury by David Evans on Freddie Mercury: The Afterlife. One of the most unusual books concerning the afterlife and spirit world. The Mercury Man: Freddie Mercury in My Life by Mary Howis in which, she says, messages from mercury beyond the grave.

The Show Must Go On: the life of Freddie Mercury by Rick Sky looks in the privacy of the star, including its relations with men and women in his life. The best way, however, understand the biography of Freddie Mercury, just read his own words. Freddie Mercury a Life, in his words, by the man himself quotes from his interviews are the most revealing.

Besides books, the story can be seen visually in a DVD entitled Queen – Under Review: 1946-1991-The Freddie Mercury Story. The story is told through images together, by reminding the world that the reason the singer has been so popular and why the legend persists.
